Preserving Yourself
The past few months have been extremely difficult. After reflection, prayer, and receiving counsel from my trusted circle, I realized that I was running myself into the ground in every area of my life. I have extreme anxiety and stress because I waste my energy on things that really don't matter and by holding myself to unrealistic expectations, aka overextending myself. Does this sound familiar? If so, here’s a few tips that I've found useful: Define who and what matters most. Release self-imposed expectations. Be selective with your "yes." Steward your time. Create boundaries and enforce them. Realize you are not God. Listen to your body. Disconnect and reset as often as needed. Guard your time and emotional state wisely. Sometimes the lesson is allowing people to feel the impact of their own actions. Letting others sit in the discomfort of their own creation.
